About Us

Region Sörmland's eye clinic is a regional clinic with outpatient services at three hospitals in Eskilstuna, Nyköping, and Katrineholm. We conduct approximately 60,000 visits per year and provide both surgical and outpatient services, including emergency care. The Eskilstuna outpatient clinic is the largest, with about 45 employees.

We who work here are doctors, nurses, ophthalmic nurses, orthoptists, optometrists, nursing assistants, and administrative staff, all with different competencies to provide our patients with the best care.

Your Responsibilities

As a nurse at our eye clinic, you will have a varied and diverse job. In the operating department, you will assist the doctor in various surgeries, including cataract surgeries, and be responsible for handling instruments, equipment, and sterility. We have fast flows and a large number of patients coming to us, which requires great flexibility on your part.

Your tasks at the outpatient clinic include preparing patients for doctor visits with various examinations, but you may also have your own independent consultations, such as photographing the retina and performing visual field tests. A large patient group for us consists of those with macular problems. These conditions are treated with intravitreal injections, which our nurses perform after training. Advising via Tele Q is also part of the nurse's responsibilities, but this will be relevant only after you have gained some experience in our operations.

For us at the eye clinic, it is important to provide you with a proper introduction/training so that you feel secure when you start working independently. You will have a mentor whom you can always turn to with questions and concerns, and of course, other colleagues will always be close at hand.

Your Competence

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse in health and medical care, ophthalmic nurse, or operating room nurse, preferably with a few years of experience.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. You are curious, attentive, responsible, have a good ability to collaborate within and between professions, and have a positive attitude towards your work. It is important that you have a holistic perspective and consider the best interests of the entire operation in your actions and decisions.

If you are interested in deepening your knowledge and skills, there is an opportunity to later further educate yourself as an ophthalmic nurse.

Employment Type

Permanent employment with a start date according to agreement. Daytime Monday - Friday.
